Two months ago today, I was in pain and agony, watching movies in my hospital bed, and having David sneak me animal crackers, waiting for this little one to be born.

She is getting bigger and sweeter each day! She went for her 2 month check-up and shots yesterday. I was all worried about seeing her cry and in pain, but she took it like a champ. I am sure I am a mean mommy for giggling at how red her face got from her 10 seconds of crying. Poor thing. I think her feelings were hurt more than anything. But she cried for all of 10 seconds and was back to cooing and smiling right away. Put her back in the car seat and passed out for awhile.
Here are her stats:
Weight: 12 pounds 10 ounces Chunky Monkey! 90th percentile
Height 23 and 1/2 inches 80th percentile
I never understood the whole 'percentile' thing. The Dr basically said, if we had 10 two month old girls in a row, she would weigh more than 9 of them, something like that. She is height weight proportionate, so that's good. I am sure if she had pooped before the appointment, she would have weighed a pound less. But I told that little girl to hold it in until after the weigh in. We gotta get good numbers! Teaching her how to competitively cheat early. I mean if the guy from the Biggest Loser can chug 2 gallons of water before his weigh in to throw the numbers, why can't my 2 month old hold her poop?? Joking of course.
Anyways.
What does she do besides eat (obviously) and sleep and make diapers?
*She smiles and really wants to laugh. I can get a 'HA" and holds her mouth open and breathes loudly , but waiting for the "HAHAHAHAHA" She is getting really close!
*She is doing pretty good on her sleeping at night. Lately she has been going down around 8 and sleeps anywhere between 3 and 4. Eats, then sleeps until around 6:45 or 7. Some nights she will wake at 2, but usually it has been between 3 and 4.
*She has her fussy time in the evening. Just in time for when David gets home, she starts to be fussy. She wakes up in the afternoon around 3 or 4, eats, and will fight sleep until about 8. And she will fuss and be all "Look at me! Talk to me! Hold me! Put me down! Pick me up! Feed me! No more food! Swaddle me! Unswaddle me!" The Dr said she is right there with about 98% of other parents of a 2 month old and it should get better around 3 to 4 months. So enjoy a glass of wine for our sanity and just hold her, or swing her, or take her for a walk or car ride, or put her in her car seat on the drier (while holding it of course).
*She is holding her head up more and more. I am not the best at consistently doing tummy time. Whatever. When I hold her facing me she works at holding her head up and doesn't want to lay her head on my shoulder. She just wants to look at everything.
*She has discovered her right ear. She is always tugging and pulling at it. I was all worried she was getting an ear infection or something. But the Dr said it looks fine. She does it while feeding or tired. He says it is her way to pacify herself. I just have to keep her nails filed down because she keeps scratching it all up!
How's mommy doing?
Well I am easing back into work, by working a short week next week, then off the following week, then officially back on the 7th. My mom will keep her Monday and Tuesday and David is off the rest of the week. Of course I am sad to leave her. I am glad to do some work, but I want to be with her. If only there were like 30 or 34 hours in a day to do it all.
I am still struggling with these last 8-10 pounds. Ugh! Yes I know, it has only been 8 weeks. But I don't want those pounds getting all happy and comfortable and buying real estate on my hips. This is merely a vacation site for you 8 pounds! Now go away! Ever want motivation to lose weight? Take a 'before' picture in your undies. Totally motivating.
Physically I have been doing great since about 3 weeks after the birth. Mentally, well, you have seen the pictures of her in the amish outfit. I think I have post-partum-insanity. Ah well, things could be worse.
Some pics of the little boogie!

I just love that little nose!
